TENANTS’ RIGHTS GROUP
Jackie is a Tenants' Rights Staff Attorney at Centro Legal, where she assists low-income tenants facing eviction, unlawful rent increases, uninhabitable conditions, and harassment, including in state court and before the Oakland Rent Adjustment Program. She is drawn to housing work because of its connection to mass movements for racial and economic justice.
Jackie attended law school at the University of California, Berkeley and received her bachelor's degree from Amherst College. During law school, she interned at Communities for a Better Environment, Tenants Together, and Legal Aid at Work, and was a clinical student at the East Bay Community Law Center in both the Housing and Consumer Justice Clinics. She was a member of the Berkeley Law and Organizing Collective (BLOC) and the Berkeley Law National Lawyers' Guild chapter. She received the Prosser Award in Environmental Justice.
