Interim Grants Contract Manager
As the Interim Grants Contract Manager at Centro Legal de la Raza, Krista is responsible for the administration of the government contract grants within Tenants’ Rights Program. Prior to joining Centro Legal, Krista worked as the Director of Advancement at the Berkwood Hedge School in Berkeley, as the Development Director at the racial justice organization World Trust in Oakland, and served as the Executive Director at the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic for five years with clinics in Oakland and San Francisco. As a non-profit leader and fundraising professional, Krista’s work has largely been focused on advancing social justice in the areas of public health, gender identity, racial equity, and the intersectionality of these issues.
A native New Yorker, Krista grew up in New York City’s West Village in the 1980’s when the AIDS epidemic devastated the community. The experience of watching a generation of gay men perish without access to care or basic human rights ignited her commitment to social justice-which continues to deepen and evolve as part of a lifelong journey of learning and growth. Krista holds a BA in Peace and Justice Studies from Earlham College.
