Miguel Zavala
Staff Attorney
Miguel Zavala was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato and immigrated to Salinas, California in 1996. He was raised in a socially conscious farm working community that motivated him to advocate for the rights and needs of marginalized communities.
Miguel is currently a Staff Attorney at Centro Legal de La Raza assisting low-income tenants facing evictions, unlawful rent increases, uninhabitable conditions and harassment. Prior to joining Centro Legal de La Raza, Miguel worked for six months at Legal Aid at Work (LAAW) (formerly Legal Aid Society-Employment Law Center) and six months at Olivier Schreiber & Chao as part of the year-long Foundation for Advocacy Inclusion and Resources (FAIR) Fellowship.
A 2018 graduate of the U.C. Berkeley School of Law, Miguel served as a Co-Chair of La Raza Law Students Association, an Administrative Editor of the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law, and a Class Representative for the Boalt Hall Student Association.
