Jesus “Chuche” Chavez

Jesus “Chuche” Chavez, joined Centro Legal on March 2020 as the Communications Manager. Today he is Interim Director of Development, supporting Centro Legal’s fundraising and communication strategies with the Executive Director. Jesus enjoys interviewing our clients and getting to know them personally because it helps build community trust. Previously, he worked at Civicorps in West Oakland, and prior to moving to Oakland, he worked for several LGBTQ organizations in Washington DC. He hails from the agricultural lands of Visalia, CA in the Central Valley and graduated from UC Berkeley (Class of 2013). During his free time, Jesus enjoys watching RuPauls’ Dragrace, playing board games, hiking and going for runs around Lake Merritt.
