Jesus “Chuche” Chavez

Jesus “Chuche” Chavez, joined Centro Legal on March 2020 as the Communications Manager. In 2022, he assumed Interim Director of Development during a period of transition and today is the Development and Communications Manager. Previously, he worked at Civicorps in West Oakland, and prior to moving to Oakland, worked for several LGBTQ organizations in Washington, DC. He hails from the agricultural lands of Visalia, CA in the Central Valley and graduated from UC Berkeley (Class of 2013). During his free time, Jesus enjoys watching RuPauls’ Dragrace, playing board games, hiking and going for runs around Lake Merritt.
